Hardware Engineering · Prototype to Production
You have the product idea.
We turn it into the product.
For executives, R&D leads and founders without an in-house hardware team: from first sketch to a production-ready pilot series – with a firm cost estimate, no nasty surprises.
Services exclusively for businesses (B2B).

Sound familiar?
Having an idea is easy. Turning it into a product isn't.
The Black-Box Process
How does an idea actually become a product? Prototype, tooling, pilot series — nobody explains what happens when, and who does what. Yet you're expected to make all the right calls.
The Unknown Costs
Does an injection mold cost 5,000 or 50,000 euros? Is your budget even enough? Without reference values you're planning on guesswork — and a design flaw from the concept phase gets a hundred times more expensive in production.
The Wrong Person to Call
The CAD freelancer just draws. The injection molder only ships from 10,000 units. The consultant gives talks instead of building things. You need someone who thinks of design, prototyping and manufacturing as one path.
That's exactly the gap we close: one development partner who owns the entire route from your idea to the first sellable series.
Interactive Project Check
Feasible? And what will it roughly cost?
Four questions, two minutes, zero sign-up. You instantly get an honest first assessment: the right manufacturing technology, the order of magnitude of the investment, and the smartest next step for your project.
The check runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is stored or transmitted — not until you click the booking link yourself.
Scope of Services
One partner for the entire route — from sketch to pilot series
Concept & CAD Engineering
- Product concept with a fixed cost target (design-to-cost)
- Manufacturing-ready design: injection molding, CNC, metal, sheet metal
Prototyping & Pilot Series
- Functional 3D-printed prototypes within days
- Support from pilot run to scale-up
Electronics & Custom Solutions
- Electronics integration: sensors & controls inside the housing
- Partner network for production-ready electronics

The Collaboration
Two ways to get started — one goal: your finished product.
No need to build an engineering department. Start with one of the two entry points — or go straight to the monthly development partnership if you want the full journey.
The Safe Entry
Feasibility & Cost Check
You have an idea, a sketch or a CAD model? We review it fully: technical feasibility, the right manufacturing technology and realistic costs through the pilot series. You receive a concrete report with recommendations — before you invest bigger.
- Analysis of feasibility & manufacturing risks
- Honest cost estimate: development, tooling, unit prices
- Concrete roadmap to the first pilot series
For Startups
Investor-Ready Sprint
A 4-week, highly focused sprint for startups that need a visually and functionally convincing prototype for their pitch deck, demo day or grant application.
- 4 weeks of dedicated development time (timeboxed)
- Focus on rapid prototyping (e.g. 3D printing)
- Handover of prototype CAD data at the end of the sprint
- Note: Without DFM optimization for series production.
The monthly partnership
Looking for long-term collaboration?
If your product needs the full journey — from idea to production-ready pilot series — the retainer is the right model: dedicated capacity, weekly milestones, one fixed point of contact.
Monthly Development Partnership
Fixed monthly rate, visible progress every week. We stay on your project until the pilot series stands and the product is production-ready for scale-up — including all iterations along the way.
- Personal development partner from idea to pilot series
- Target-cost-oriented engineering (design-to-cost)
- Manufacturing-ready CAD: injection molding, CNC, metal & sheet metal
- Functional prototypes incl. electronics integration
- Coordination of manufacturing partners — without sales pressure
- Weekly milestones, each one signed off by you
Hardware R&D Retainer
5.000€
per month, excl. VAT

The Path to Your Product
From Idea to Pilot Series in Four Steps
A transparent process with fixed milestones: you always see where the project stands, what it costs and what happens next — and you sign off on every step yourself.
- 1
Intro Call & Feasibility
We clarify what your idea needs — technically, on timing, and on budget. Honestly, even when the answer is a no.
- 2
Concept & Engineering
CAD engineering with a fixed cost target: every decision is checked against manufacturing and your target sale price (design-to-cost).
- 3
Prototype & Real Testing
Functional samples through our vetted manufacturing network. You hold your product in your hands before tooling costs arise.
- 4
Pilot Series & Scale-Up
DFM refinement, escorting the first production runs and every iteration needed — until your product is ready for the big numbers.

About Me
The Single Point of Contact Who Holds It All Together
Hi, I'm Anton Steenken — a trained electronics technician for devices and systems with a degree in production engineering. I've worked on both sides of the tool: I know how a PCB works, and I know how to engineer a part so it can be manufactured profitably in a steel mold. That exact combination is missing in most companies without their own development department — and that's exactly why early design flaws get so expensive later. That's why I founded engineer your idea: as the single point of contact you'd wish for as a client yourself.
- Electronics + Mechanics in One Head: PCBs, space constraints, heat, connectors — I plan both together, not one after the other.
- Direct Communication: You always talk to the engineer, never to an account manager.
- Design-to-Cost: I engineer toward your budget and your target sale price — not toward technology that won't pay off later.
