Privacy summary (English)
Short version: this website collects as little personal data as technically possible, is hosted in Germany, and every processing activity is documented in our German privacy policy (/datenschutz). This page is a plain-language summary — the German policy is the legally binding version.
What we collect and why
Server logs. Our hoster (Ionos, Germany) processes IP addresses and request metadata in server log files to deliver the site and defend against attacks. Legal basis is legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Logs are deleted automatically after a short retention period.
Product analytics.We measure anonymised page views with PostHog in cookieless mode. No analytics cookies are set, no cross-site tracking takes place, and browsers sending "Do Not Track" are excluded. Legal basis is legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); you can object at any time via the cookie banner or your browser settings.
Marketing cookies. Only optional: the calendar embed loads after you explicitly consent in the cookie banner. If you decline, the booking calendar simply stays unloaded — you can still book by email or phone.
Booking. When you book a discovery call, the booking system (self-hosted on our own server in Germany) stores your name, email address and the appointment — solely to organise the call and send you the video link. Legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures).
Email contact. If you email us, we use your address only to reply. No newsletters without separate consent, no data sales, no third-party advertising trackers.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR). Write to anton@engineer-your-idea.com and we will respond within 30 days. You may also lodge a complaint with the Hamburg data protection authority.
